Hi, I’m Jan

I am a sentimental, nature and animal loving, storytelling, journaling artist who loves to create art that brightens space, evokes memories and helps express who you are.  I’ve been drawing and painting as long as I can remember, creating for others all along the way.  I have been fortunate to teach art as well as create many forms of art throughout the years.  My career has encompassed the designing of logos and advertising layouts for large companies, creating hand painted clothing, designing and painting customized murals for both residential and commercial clients, painting furniture and children’s medical helmets and now focusing on colorful, acrylic paintings influenced by all that I have experienced along my journey.

All of nature and the busy world around us has been the source of great inspiration for all the art I have created and continues to influence my painting.  After years of creating only commissioned artwork, I enter this new chapter of painting that which inspires me, and in turn hopefully leads you to notice and appreciate the little things, remember the special memories, and surround yourself with art that tells your ever-evolving story and speaks to and uplifts you.

I am inspired by faith, family, friends and all that this journey here on earth has brought into my life. 

My faith opens my eyes even wider to all the glorious nature that the Lord has created for us to see, take care of, and appreciate. Nature’s source of color, variety and its perfectly imperfect design are the ultimate mentor’s lesson of what is beautiful and most definitely should be painted.

My family means everything to me (both present and those who’ve gone before) and, in many unexpected moments or when seeing a treasured artifact, can be a magical source of inspiration for my next masterpiece.

My friends (or “framily”) are the kaleidoscope of colorful personalities and experiences that offer me ever-changing, ever-evolving, ever-valued inspiration that without a doubt are key components of all I create.

Nature, music, artifacts we treasure, and even our pets are all inspiration waiting for me to capture in colorful impressions that I look forward to sharing with you.
